Stewart A. Bernstein is a senior partner at Kanter, Bernstein & Kardon, P.C. He brings nearly five decades of legal experience to the firm’s practice, which focuses primarily on nursing home abuse and neglect, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, and falls and work injuries, in the Philadelphia area. Through his years in practice, Mr. Bernstein has represented clients across the U.S., including the Idaho Medical Board of Examiners.
Mr. Bernstein received his Juris Doctor degree from Temple University School of Law and has been in practice since 1970. He was selected as a “Top Rated Philadelphia Personal Injury Lawyer” from 2012-2016, and he has earned an AV-Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell® for ethical standards and legal ability. This rating signifies the pinnacle of professional excellence earned through a strenuous Peer Review Rating process.
Mr. Bernstein also served as an Adjunct Professor, teaching Civil Litigation at Peirce College. He has been a guest commentator on the television series Legal View, sponsored by the Philadelphia Bar Association. He also serves on the Fee Disputes Committee for the Philadelphia Bar Association and has been a frequent guest lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, speaking on such topics as: Pennsylvania Civil Practice and Procedure and Advanced Issues in Civil Practice. Mr. Bernstein is a Fellow of the Academy of Advocacy and a member of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Bernstein has been President of his children’s elementary, middle, and high school PTAs. He is former President of the North Wayne Civic Association, the oldest continuing civic association in the country. Mr. Bernstein also enjoys performing in community theater, which raises funds to support local performing arts and children’s education.
